Eat The Word |
Notes on eating the Word. |
Isaiah 9:7
A good friend would pull out the rug from under you, to love you into reality. A great friend would take the fall for you. But no normal man would spill out his life to woo you and your enemies into the wildfires of an unquenchable love. This is the deadly friendship of the beautiful God. This is Jesus.
I’m glad to be with you this morning. I don’t have to perform for you even though you’re the king adorned with a crown of stars. You’re immanent and transcendent in the same breath. Who is like you? Who can love me as you do? Who knows my mind, but you? To ‘Know thyself’ may be of some importance, but only in as much as it leads me to begin to know you - which will be my holy recreation for all eternity.

I’m handing over the keys to the find-a-new-house car. God is not just a better driver. It’s not just that he can see more than I can. God invented shelter. He owns the earth. Everything the Father has is mine. He loves me. So I’ll wait on him.
| Matthew: | How do I listen to you? I want to hear your voice. |
| Holy Spirit: | Read what I wrote to you. Pique your ears. Ask me, I love to give. |
| Matthew: | (crying at a coffee shop) Thank you. I love you. |
