Hebrews 2:10
Parphrased / Bradley Cox
Jesus, come and take from me whatever is required for me to fully lose my life. Remove everything until I am empty enough to receive all of you. I trust you.
34 Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. 37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.Matthew 10:34-39

1 Peter 3:18
As I read 1 Peter below, I can see again, that though it is uncomfortable and difficult to comprehend, God has gifted me with trials for the express purpose of refining me, for my benefit and his glory, for my true birthday.
Sin and Satan are hell-bent on bringing me to destruction through suffering, compelling me to experience life as a victim. But the affections of the Holy Spirit help me repent for my integral role in sin, and receive trials without anger - having relinquished any entitlement to peace in life, and believing freshly that even great suffering is a gift to center me in Jesus Christ, the one who suffered for everyone.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
One day, I will shout from the highest point, that it was all worth it. I will look deep into your gaze, and I will hold it without fail, nothing will stop me, all power in heaven and on earth will aid me in that gaze. I will look on you, and I will proclaim that it was all worth it.
May your grace carry me to that day.
