Eat The Word |
Notes on eating the Word. |
Past all doing. Past all striving. Take me. Past all of me. Into you. Take me. Leaving all my piles. I did this. I missed that. Take me. Emptying my pockets. Nothing left to keep. Take me.
Take me with you, to be with you, where you’re going. Where you are. Take me.
No more trying to get it. I can’t think hard enough. I can’t beat my own heart, or stop it. Take me.
No more planning it out. No more controlling my life. Take me. Take me through your plan. Lead me from song to song. From fragrance to fragrance. From your love to your love. Take me.
Take me with you, to be with you, where you’re going. Where you are. Take me.
IHOP prayer room
Jesus, help me set my mind on the things of the Spirit this morning. Running from my flesh, running hard after you. Help me take up my inheritance with joy, suffering with you, and being glorified with you.
16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him;17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.
Matthew 3:16-17
Before Jesus started his ministry, he received the Holy Spirit, and the deep blessing of the Father’s love. As I go to work today, via Jesus, I receive the Spirit and the Father’s love. As I repent today, via Jesus, I receive the Spirit and the Father’s love. As I do anything, I need the same things Jesus’ needed, and how much more!
He groaned in the Spirit, furious with death.
Sobbing, he reached into the Father’s heart.
Sobbing, he reached into the tomb,
and retrieved his friend from the thief.
