Eat The Word |
Notes on eating the Word. |
Jesus keeps Judas in his inner circle. He’s not afraid of Judas. It’s a dangerous plan. It’s wild and feels unruly to my controlling heart. He maintains close company with a thorn, and keeps the the thorn close to his other disciples. Did the other disciples complain that Judas was allowed to stay with them, as I would have?
Jesus doesn’t seem to have kept Judas with him and his boys for the sake of executing a dry plan, but because he’s working out love, because he’s tearing open the curtain that veils God’s glory.
Jesus, help me accept the Judas’ you’ve placed in my life, but use them to bring more glory for you. My Judas’ aren’t all people. My emotions betray me. Even good, unchecked, desires betray me.
Though the ways you love me are often hard, and your kindness often burns, yet I love the way you love me, and I trust you. Please keep going. Don’t stop. Keep pulling the curtain back. I want to see my Abba more.
